Nordic Innovation Centre initiates and finances projects that stimulate innovation. We work with industry, authorities and research. Our role is also to disseminate knowledge about innovation and spread the results of our projects. We shall contribute to increasing innovation and competitiveness of Nordic industry through enhancing innovation work and collaboration across borders. Nordic Innovation Centre is governed by the Nordic Council of Ministers and is co-located with other Nordic organizations in Oslo.

Based on the feedback and communication with our blog reader but also face-to-face discussions with people around the wearable electronic community we decided to start a new initiative to make communication and cooperation among this community more effortlessly and to connect easily. To achieve this aim we created a community based system, facilitating on one hand the membership and communication management and to provide a powerful infrastructure to support cooperation and collaboration among members of the network. Called the talk2myShirt wearable electronic Connection, our community platform is open for everyone who like to connect to the wearable electronic inventors, designers and creators, to work on technology projects, product design or to link up with companies interested into launching interactive clothing. |

European research activities are structured around consecutive programmes, or so-called Framework Programmes. The Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) set out the priorities - including the IST Priority - for the EU's research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities for the period 2002-2006.
These priorities were identified on the basis of a set of common criteria reflecting the major concerns of increasing industrial competitiveness and the quality of life for European citizens in a global information society. |

The UP-tex Cluster is an association of SME’s, industrial groups, research and technology transfer centres. UP-tex has been approved as a Scientific Cluster by the French government on 12 July 2005. For a period ranging 2009 2015, the Cluster’s aim is to become a European benchmark in the field of Advanced Textile Materials, Sensory Perception Technology and Mass Customisation. UP-tex has also carried out several market studies. Five years after its approval by French government as a scientific Cluster on 12 July 2005, 46 projects have been approved, by the Economic, Scientific and Technical Committee (ESTC), the Cluster’s « approving body ». Which totals 60 M€ of funding for projects. |
