cybernomade suit
„the utope project“ approaches a textile utopia:
The exterior of clothing becomes a display. This creates the possibility to change its surface like a chameleon´s skin or to use it like a computer display.
The Austrian Designer Wolfgang Langeder and the Fraunhofer IZM / Stretchable Circuits in Berlin, have joined forces since January 2010 to develop such an innovative display on clothing.
The first result of their cooperation is „ Cybernomade Suit“, an intelligent business suit. The integrated display interacts with a smart phone put within a pocket on the inside of the jacket and indicates a call or sms on its surface. Cybernomade Suit has an integrated circuit board which is stretchable, moisture-resistant and highly energy-efficient, what makes it easy to handle and suitable for daily use. It is one of the furthest developed wearable smart fashion systems worldwide at the moment.
The main objective of this cooperation is to create a smart urban wear product line for men in 2012.
